I have a friend who converting to Judaism, and is obsessed with being an orthodox jew.?

I am jewish by birth. At first, I helped teach him the religion, but now, he has taken it to extreme levels and has decided to become orthodox. He has developed this "holier than thou" attitude and has become so judgemental of anyone who's not jewish and of jews that are not orthodox. I try to be supportive because I know that this is imortant, but he has become so annoying and somewhat condescending of others.
