Has Chase Bank been charging you twice for transactions?

In other words showing the transaction TWICE as an authorization. They claim its just a hold. But it has been going in twice. I don't use my debit really much, I use my credit card and pay up. However if i buy something expensive and the authorization shows twice won't I be thrown overdraft, until the payment clears.
