My agoraphobia is back, and its worse then ever.?
I'm afraid the best answer I could give you is to start on medication. Your therapist was right, it's partly related to chemical imbalances, especially serotonin. What sucks about panic disorder is that your mind keeps going over and over the same questions, which just fuels that panic. Racing thoughts basically. They think it's related to the inablility of the receptors to hold the serotonin for a long enough time so you can function normally. It just keeps firing and firing them, which most likely leads to racing thoughts that loop over and over again. I'm sure presciption antidepressants can help lots. And they're not addictive, so you can easily but gradually stop under the supervision of a doctor. There's really not harm or shame in trying. Unless there is a problem with affording the medication. Best of luck man :]
